   Yuri Olhovsky is a Certified Home Inspector in Toronto and a founder of Home Inspections 4U in 2001. Yuri was born and raised in Ukraine where he received his Bachelor of Science degree in electrical engineering. He worked in industrial construction for more than 25 years. Since 1994 Yuri resides in the city of Richmond Hill. In 2002 Yuri graduated from Humber college Home Inspection certificate program with Honours and since then he conducts residential and commercial home inspections full time. Passionate about his service Yuri tries to help people with variety of their needs providing them with outstanding building consulting and advice. His expertise is built on numerous educational courses related to roofing and structure, electrical and mechanical systems, building science fundamentals, new materials and their applications.

In the absence of licensing and regulation for home inspectors in Ontario the only proven credential of inspector's competence is a voluntary certification obtained from the National Home Inspectors Certification Council (NHICC). This certification is based on the national standards developed in collaboration of private and government entities known as Canadian Home Inspectors and Building Officials (CHIBO) initiative. To become a National Home Inspector (NHI) a successful candidate is required to have a verifiable educational background and pass a rigorous Test Inspection with Peer Review (TIPR). Yuri is a member in good standing of International Association of Certified Home Inspectors (NACHI). He holds designation of Certified Master Inspector (CMI).

Yuri Olhovsky was trained in Defect Recognition by Ontario Association of Home Inspectors and Building Code fundamentals by the Ministry of Housing and Ontario Building Officials Association. His building science courses include construction of R-2000 homes from Ontario Home Builders Association and ENERGY STAR homes from EnerQuality Corporation.

Due to an increased interest and growing popularity of renewable energy Yuri was trained in design, maintenance and installation of the Solar Hot Water Systems delivered by Canadian Solar Industries Association (CanSIA)

Yuri completed a full course of studies in residential ventilation, air systems design, heat loss and heat gain calculations, combo systems and commissioning at Heating, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Institute of Canada (HRAI). Yuri is a Certified Energy Advisor (CEA) with Natural Resources Canada and provides valuable advice to the homeowners on improving of the energy efficiency of their homes to reduce energy loss, improve comfort and help the environment.

With more stringent requirements for the energy efficiency of new homes in 2012 Ontario Building Code it is important to ensure that new homes are built to the highest standards of energy efficiency and design. Yuri Olhovsky is a Certified ENERGY STAR evaluator and Green House consultant for new home builders. He received a special training from Sustainable Buildings Canada in use of the EE4 energy simulation software for mid-rise and multi-units commercial buildings to be constructed to the top requirements of Leadership in Energy Efficiency and Design (LEED) in Canada.

Yuri is a Registered Expert in North American "All Experts" directory, where he answers questions on various concerns regarding energy efficiency.

With the substantial amount of time that people spend in their homes Indoor Air Quality becomes extremely important, especially for people who suffer from asthma, allergies, migraines, etc. Yuri Olhovsky received an extensive training from Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation (CMHC) as an IAQ investigator for mold recognition. He was trained by ProLab, one of the largest testing facilities in North America, as an IAQ specialist for mold sampling and testing. He is a member of International Association of Indoor Air Consultants.

Yuri is a Certified Level 1 Thermographer. He received his training from the SNELL Group - the largest educational provider in the field of thermography. There is a number of inspectors who own IR thermal cameras. It is not difficult to learn how to use the camera. However it is extremely important to know how to interpret thermal images. Many inspectors with thermal cameras do not have any formal IR education. Level 1 is a first step for anyone involved in thermography to understand and correctly interpret IR scans. The most expensive equipment may deliver erroneous results if not combined with proper training.
